INGREDIENTS

  • 1 store-bought pizza dough (found in the refrigerated section of your grocery store)
  • 1 cup Dad’s Own BBQ Sauce (plus extra for drizzling)
  • 2 cups cooked chicken breast, shredded or diced
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup shredded gouda cheese
  • 1/2 cup red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup banana peppers, sliced
  • Fresh cilantro leaves, chopped (for garnish)
  • Olive oil (for brushing the crust)

DIRECTIONS

PREP

Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 450°F (or follow the package instructions on your pizza dough for the ideal temperature).

Prepare the Pizza Dough: Roll out the store-bought pizza dough on a floured surface until you reach your desired thickness. Transfer it to a lightly oiled or parchment-lined baking sheet or pizza stone.

Prepare the BBQ Chicken Mixture: In a medium bowl, mix 3/4 cup of Dad’s Own BBQ Sauce with the shredded or diced chicken until the chicken is fully coated in BBQ sauce.

COOK THE DOUGH
Bake: Place the pizza in the preheated oven and bake for about 5 minutes until you have a semi firm crust.

ASSEMBLE THE PIZZA

  • Sauce and Chicken: Spread the BBQ chicken mixture evenly over the pizza dough, leaving a small border around the edges for the crust.
  • Add Cheese: Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and gouda cheeses evenly over the BBQ chicken mixture, covering the entire pizza.
  • Add Red Onion: Cover the pizza with your desired amount of red onion

BAKE THE PIZZA

Place the pizza in the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the crust is golden brown.

POST COOK

  • Top with Cilantro and Banana Peppers: Scatter the thinly sliced red onion and banana peppers over the cheese layer for a pop of flavor and color.

TIPS

  • For added smokiness, try grilling the pizza or cooking it on a pizza stone for a crispier crust.
  • If you like extra heat, consider adding a few jalapeño slices along with the banana peppers!
