INGREDIENTS
- 14 oz can crushed tomatoes
- 1 cup ketchup
- ¾ cup brown sugar
- ½ cup apple cider vinegar
- ½ cup Dad’s Own Colorado Cooking Sauce
- 1 Tablespoon smoked paprika
- 1 Tablespoon salt
- 2 teaspoons cracked pepper corn
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
- ½ teaspoon ground mustard seed
DIRECTIONS
In a medium saucepan, combine all ingredients and whisk until smooth. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, then reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for 20 minutes.
Once simmered, remove the pan from the heat and allow the sauce to cool completely before transferring it to an airtight container.
While the sauce can be used right away, refrigerating it overnight enhances the flavor. Stored in a tightly sealed container, the sauce will keep fresh in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
