INGREDIENTS

  • 2 New York strip steaks
  • 1 cup Dad’s Own Products Colorado Cooking Sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh rosemary or thyme (optional, for garnish)

DIRECTIONS

  1. Marinate the Steaks:
  • Place the New York strip steaks in a resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish.
  • Pour the Dad’s Own Products Colorado Cooking Sauce over the steaks, ensuring they are well-coated.
  • Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for 2-4 hours.

2. Prepare the Traeger Grill:

  • Preheat your Traeger grill to 225°F (107°C).
  • Remove the steaks from the marinade and pat them dry with paper towels. Discard the marinade.
  • Season the steaks with salt and pepper on both sides.

3.Smoke the Steaks:

  • Place the steaks on the grill grates and smoke for about 45 minutes to 1 hour, or until the internal temperature reaches 120°F (49°C) for medium-rare.

4. Prepare the Cast Iron Skillet:

  • While the steaks are smoking, heat a cast iron skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Add the butter and minced garlic to the skillet, allowing the butter to melt and the garlic to become fragrant.

5. Sear the Steaks:

  • Once the steaks are done smoking, transfer them to the hot cast iron skillet.
  • Sear each side for about 1-2 minutes, basting with the garlic butter, until a nice crust forms and the internal temperature reaches 130°F (54°C) for medium-rare.

6. Rest and Serve:

  • Remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest for 5-10 minutes.
  • Garnish with fresh rosemary or thyme if desired.
  • Slice and serve with your favorite sides.
