Venison Sloppy Joes

INGREDIENTS
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 pound ground venison
- 1 stalk celery, finely chopped
- ½ medium yellow onion, finely chopped
- 1 red bell pepper, finely chopped
- 8 ounces tomato sauce
- ¼ cup ketchup
- ¼ cup Dad’s Own BBQ Sauce
- 2 tablespoons Dad’s Own
- 1 tablespoon vinegar
- 1 teaspoon dry mustard
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 4 brioche buns
- 4 slices cheddar cheese
- Over medium high heat, heat olive oil in a skillet and add venison, celery, onion and pepper. Cook until vegetables are soft and meat is browned.
- To the skillet add tomato sauce, ketchup, Dad’s Own BBQ Sauce, Dad’s Own, vinegar and dry mustard.
- Cook until mixture thickens, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking to the pan.
- Season with salt and pepper. Serve on butter toasted brioche buns and top with cheddar cheese.
Serving: Great with homemade potato chips. Venison can be substituted with any ground meat including bison, beef, or elk.
